Diets for Building Muscle

June 17, 2009 by

Rather than look for diets for building muscle, you should be looking for nutrition plans because when you want to build muscle, it is more than the word “diet” entails. A diet usually means reducing the foods you are eating in order to lose weight, which if you want to build muscle you shouldn’t be cutting back on foods but eating the right balance to help build your muscles.

So it’s important to be eating the RIGHT foods and here is a list of what you should really be including in your daily intake:

Red Meat – Red meat, especially if it is lean, is a great source for protein. It also contains essential vitamins and minerals too.

Fish – Fish is a great source of protein too but also contains vital fatty acids that have been proven to be very good for the body. Oily fish tends to contain a high amount of Omega 3 which is good for you too.

Eggs – Eggs or more precisely egg whites contain lots of protein too. Try to take out the middle yellow yolk as it isn’t too good for you. Just drink the egg whites for a source of protein.

Chicken – Another high protein source, chicken is a great meat to eat on your muscle building diet.

Nuts – Nuts are a fantastic source of protein and unsaturated fats.

The most important thing to do is find a natural and healthy balance of your daily foods. You’ll need carbohydrates to give you muscle mass but also proteins and fats to help the muscles grow and keep your internal organs working as they should.

So forget about diets for muscle building and create yourself a complete nutrition plan that begins with the healthy foods we have listed above.
