How do Women Build Muscle?

Many people think that for women to build muscle it is different to how men build muscle. But those in the know can say for certain that there really isn’t too much different.

Although for many women, they don’t want large muscles, they just want to be toned and firm. So there is a difference to the exercises they will be doing and the nutrition balance they will be consuming.

For the women who want to build muscle mass, here are some tips to help:

Leave The Light Weights At Home – Often you’ll see women lifting weights or doing aerobics with weights and the weights themselves are really light. Training with these will only help you tone up your muscles. You won’t be able to grow muscle mass with light weights.

So the first step in building muscle mass is to use heavy weights. You need to be doing between 8-12 reps per set maximum. If you can comfortably do more, then the weight is too light. Increase it until you are doing the set amount of reps. You should also do 2-3 sets for each muscle group.

Don’t Over Train Your Muscles – This is another common mistake. If you constantly work your muscles without giving them rest, they won’t grow any larger. You’ll just be over training them. Muscles need rest to grow, so don’t work one muscle group two days running. They need time to repair themselves. Alternate your sessions so that each muscle group gets a day off.

Increase Your Protein Intake – For your muscles to grow mass, you’ll need to eat more protein. This helps your muscles to grow easier and faster. So add things like fish, lean meats, chicken and egg whites to your daily diet.

Just by following these easy to follow tips will see women build muscle more efficiently than ever before.
