How Do You Build Muscle?

June 8, 2009 by Admin

How do you build muscle? This is a common question asked by people when they are just starting out on their bodybuilding and fitness quest. Obviously there is no “one” answer to this question. It depends on the individual and their current health state. But one thing you can be sure of, you will need to lift some weights in order to build muscle.

Building muscle can be tricky if you are overweight because to look good you will need to lose fat whilst still gaining muscle. So you diet needs to be strictly put together to make sure you are burning enough calories but also consuming enough carbs and protein to build your muscles whilst training.

If you are normal weight or “skinny” then it is easier for you to start building muscle. Just create yourself a diet which is high in carbs and protein and have a low-mid fat consumption. Train hard at the gym with a good all over body workout routine and you’re well on your way to piling on the muscle.

To build muscle you need to have the right diet to meet your needs and to train 3-4 times a week. Don’t make the mistake of training everyday as your body needs time to rest and repair. Having a day off helps your muscles to repair themselves and grow before you next train.

A high amount of carbs will add the bulk of muscle mass when you train and the protein will help your muscles repair and grow too.

It’s all about a combination of lifting the weights and making sure your diet is well balanced. That way you’ll be able to build muscle without wasting hours in the gym and getting no results.
