Workout Plan to Build Muscle

June 15, 2009 by Admin

If you are just starting out on bodybuilding, then it is important you have a workout plan to build muscle right the outset. Otherwise you could easily waste hours and hours of doing the wrong exercises or eating the wrong foods. If this happens, you’ll lose all motivation and probably just give up and move onto something else.

So where can you find an effective workout plan?

A workout plan for beginners really doesn’t have to be complicated at all. In fact, some of the most effective exercises can be done without even using any weights. They can be done in your own home and will get you in good shape even before you start paying those gym fees.

Chin Ups – Chin ups are a great exercise for building upper body strength. You can buy a bar that fits into a standard doorframe and do them from any room in the house. They are great for shoulder strength and also building up the lats. Overall, it’s one of the best exercises for using most muscles in the upper body.

Push Ups – Yes an old favourite but still deadly effective. The basic push up helps to strengthen the shoulders, arms and back muscles. Although it might seem too simple, the push up is still used by all top bodybuilders and athletes. You can raise your feet higher for a more effective push up and really start burning those muscles.

Sit Ups – Sit ups help tone up the abdominal muscles whilst also burning fat from your stomach area. They can be normal in the normal fashion or you can mix things up by doing bicycle crunches or hanging leg raises. All are massively effective in working the abs.

So when devising your workout plan to build muscle, start with these simple exercises before moving onto the gym. You’ll find it much easier in the long run.
